Miltenberg to Wertheim Cruise

25 June

Miltenberg is a picturesque village on the Main River, which creates a realistic feeling of Bavarian life in medieval times owing to the Old Town being lined with well-preserved half-timbered buildings. This was a late sleep-in day, as it is a long journey from Rudesheim.

This stretch was a good place to see some of the 68 river locks we would pass through until Budapest.

10:00 – After breakfast, we had the opportunity to learn how to fold towels into interesting shapes.

12:30 – After lunch, we got off the ship with our receivers and split into five groups for the walking tour. Meanwhile, the ship left immediately for Wertheim.

13:00 – We saw the Gothic Merchant Hall, an impressive symbol of past affluence created by trade from river traffic.

Four buses took us to Wertheim, 40 minutes away. We then did a walking tour of this town.
